Questions about new a new boat?

I’m getting rid of my old boat. I have a 1970 Lund that had a 1972, 55 Johnson on it. We put a 94 60 Johnson on it about two years ago and I’m ready to get a new boat. Looking at a 04 Crestliner Fish Hawk 1850 with a 03 150 Suzuki. A friend has a Crestliner and really likes it. I have seen other boats that I like better but are a little harder on the budget that I have. This boat has a ton of room to fish in it, compared to the old Lund, I may get lost in this boat.
Do any of you have a Crestliner that you have had for a few years and how do you like it?
The Suzuki is a Fuel Injected 2 stroke. I don’t know much about the Suzuki motors, can anyone give me any insight? I’ve looked at there HSOforum and read all about them but have never talked to anyone that have had one. Before I spend the money on a new boat I wanted to ask some people that have a boat like this and see how they are.

I bought a 1750 fishhawk last year. The only problem i have is the lack of dry storage, everything in the storage compartments get wet. Other than that i like it.

I have a 99 1750 Fishhawk tiller.
A dancefloor on water. Wide open spaces.

I really like it a lot. Great fishability.
I will concur with the wet storage.
If it rains, almost every compartment takes on some amount of water.
But hey, I can deal with it.

I have an 03 1850 Fish Hawk Dual Console with a 03 Suzuki DF 140 4-stroke. I really love the boat. Tons of room, storage is great,rod storage is OK, and I agree with all storage getting wet to some degree. The boat rides excellent, but you can get a little wet in rough water. The Suzuki is a great 4 stroke motor. Do a little more research, I think you will find the 2 strokes are very dependable also. You may want a certified Suzuki mechanic to check the motor out before you buy. Good luck with your choice.

I agree w/ above posts. I have a '99 1750 Sportfish w/ a 90 Johnson and really like it. I searched around a lot. Came down to Crestliner or Lund. When comparing there was no comparison, in my opinion. The Crestliner is a good 7-8 inches wider than Lund. Doesn't sound like a lot, but believe me, it is a big difference. Quality I think is better, too. Crestliner is a welded hull w/ a 20 year warranty. Lund is riveted (they pop out sometimes) and is only 10 yr. warranty on hull. It has a larger gas tank, also. I could go on, but you get the picture. Both boats are fine-my opinion Crestliner is a better buy all around... Good Luck! 8-Ball.

I bought a new crestliner back in 1988, and as such can vouch for their dependability. They were welding there hulls back then as well, except mine came with a lifetime warrenty. Anyway, I have never had even one little problem with this boat. The dependabiltiy and craftmanship of the the crestliner boat has probably made me a 'crestliner guy' for life!

Thanks guys with the reply's!! It does make me feel better to see that even after 4,5 even 8 years on owning a Crestliner that you still like them. This boat seems to have lots of room and seems like a quality boat. I read that Crestliner was the first boat to be welded, I think back in the late 60's early 70's. Other boat makers said you could not build a good boat by welding. Seems that after 30 years they have proved "them" wrong. I'll let you now what we go with.
