Brakes Abs

Recommended Posts

About two weeks ago on my 2005 Dodge Ram my Brake light and my ABS light came on. Didn't think to much of it since my brakes felt perfectly fine. Thought it might be a deal if I unhook my battery cable, everthing would reset itself.(never did get around to doing it). So anyways I hop in my truck last night and I barely have any brakes(no pressure on the pedal). Any ideas before I bring it in? Thanks for any input.

Well it was low brake fluid. It was a little below minimum. After I got done checking that, I decided to check the blinker fluid as long as my hood was up. Yeah I'm alittle embarassed. Thanks for the help, the brake and abs light went off right away.

The fluid may have no been lost any where other than the lines because of the brake pad thickness. Takes more fluid to push the piston on the caliper out because of the brake pad thickness.

Yes, but that's taken in consideration when they develop the system, that's whey there's a Low and Max markings. If this was the case then, when he changes pads he won't be able to retract caliper enough, since there's too much fluid.

There has to be a cause for the loss.

The fluid may come out of the master cyl but isn't going to hurt anything. Just b/c the master cyl is full does't affect how easy the piston is retracted.

laugh Why might come out of the master cylinder and where does it go ?
