Good point, if I'd been predator hunting I would probably have hesitated long enough to miss any shot opportunity because of the indecision of what it was. I called in and shot a large male coyote years ago. It came in and was expired a few seconds after I first saw it because I did not have a doubt it was a coyote. This thing, I'm still not so sure.

I would say its a coyote with mange its coat looks like hell I dont think its tall enough to be a wolf and it has a small head.

After looking over the vid/pics and stopping at each one, I have to say it looks like a wolf to me.

I'm still with Wolf...bringing an interesting question to mind...how many Wolves has everyone that answered here actually seen in the "wild"??

I've seen upwards of 30 or so...the most I ever saw in one day was 12 and only 4 of them were in the same group...(1/2 grown pups)...the rest were loners...

As for Coyotes in the wild...I can't count that high!

I lost count after about 50 wolves in the wild. I've seen fewer coyotes than that.

I read all the comments before I watched the vid, from the comments I was expecting a coyote that looked like a wolf, but put me down in the wolf camp. The video provides much more than the stills, the dog trot of that k9 looks like a wolf, and a couple of other body movements/mannerisms hint towards a wolf. But if you were to just show me some stills from that vid, I would probably lean more towards a 'yote. Neat video.

I'm still with Duff and Foss on the wolf.

I was between Belle Plaine and Jordan this morning and saw 3 very large coyotes in the field. You could have made a trianlge with their position to each other with about 3-400 yards between them. The closest was about 100 yards off hwy 169 laying down. The farthest was running towards the river, away from the road.

After watching the gate of the farthest coyote, it was totally different than the k9 in the vid.
