Is it still safe to ice fish up there or is everyone off the lakes?

we still have a few lakes up here that can still be ice fished!!! the lake that i live on has yet to seperate from the shore line! i talked to a guys yeasterday and he said there was still a foot and a half on leech!!! there are a few smaller more shallower lakes that are ice free but the bigger lakes are still locked up, i just may break out the ice fishing gear again and try it!!! who knows, i may still need it come opener!!!

I remember back in 96? when it was a late spring and my buddy had just got his pilots license. He rented a plane on the Friday before opener just so we could see just were we could fish. Our choice was made on what lake had a open access but it still had ice on it. We got a few but it was really tough fishing. I think that they will all open in time.(Fingers crossed)
