Lowrance hard or soft resets

I have a 522 internal gps graph and need to do a soft and possibly a hard reset to cure some clutter and freezing of the screen....I looked on Lowrance's HSOforum but I couldn't pull up the reset page for some reason....How does one do this? Thanks

Power off the unit. Push the pages and power buttons until a map of the US comes up.

thanks but is that the hard or the soft reset??...I want to try a soft reset first then the hard and if that doesn't work then upgrade software if I have to and then check the ducer..I love troubleshooting!!!

Ozzie, check the ducer first, sounds identical to my 522's issues with a bad ducer.

Soft. I have never had to do a hard reset on my unit. If you do a hard make sure you export your waypoints, cause you will loose them all.

yeah I hope it is not the ducer but want to go through the other checks before....the good thing is all the lakes I fish I know the spots so I don't set waypoints so I am not worried about the hard reset....Thanks
