travel bobber

I am a Minn. boy from way back...family had a cabin on Lake Sylvia near Buffalo. About 35 years ago ( a long time, I know) at the Minn State Fair, under the grandstand, a fellow had a small wading pool set-up to demonstrate a "Travel Bobber" This flying saucer shaped bobber would dive back toward you when you pulled on the line. When you released the line as the bobber was below water, it would "coast" forward 4-5 feet. This was perfect for fishing up under docks or limbs. I remember it well however have not been able to find out any information on them...anyone help?
Thanks,
SC Dave

SC Dave, I'll be going to the State Fair this coming Saturday and will check them out, they sound interesting. Are you interested in some? I ask because my sister and her hubby are here from SC and heading back to the Johnsonville, SC area Tues.

SC Dave,
if you are still looking for info,
this is what I have... did not pick any
up as they come in 3 styles and a few
different colors. I got a couple of their
order forms, I can mail to you. Or else
I have their phone number, address and
web site address. Probably shouldn't
post all that here. Email me if any
of this is useful.

Seems to me that they had something like that at the ice fishing show last year....

Something about the bobber being able to travel and or troll under the ice.......

Am I remembering this right??
Or is there two different kinds now?
They looked pretty interesting!

Just saw them there yesterday. I bought one a few years back and in hindsight, they work alot better in his little pool than away from the boat. One the bobber is too big: I try to use as small a bobber as will support the weight of whatever I have underneath it. It gives the fish less notice. Too, after you get under that tree in the water and a fish takes it, you don't stand too great of odd of getting the bobber en all back. I've temporarily ruined a spot a few times getting that bobber back. Lastly, for me, the bobber moves alot better when it is close to the boat rather than away from the boat.

Hey Guys,
Just a note of thanks...I'm on track and look forward to getting a couple of these bobbers...boy do I miss Minnesota fishing. I was fishing crappie with my son and he caught a small grass pike, swung it over the boat and said what the heck is this? I'd love to get him up there to see a nice one hit just as you lift your lure out of the water...maybe someday
