Terrova 80 universal sonar?

I just bought a new boat and got the terrove i-pilot with universal sonar, now the fun part of picking out locators...My question is will my Ice 55 hook into this? If it would then I would spend the money on a 800 or 900 series for the dash if not im gonna have to get 2 700 series to keep the cost down. Thanks foro any advice...

i don't think so. i asked the same question too. i believe the transducer frequency is 200khz or so on the universal sonar, and your flasher is at a much higher frequency. so not possible. you have to get an open water adapter, which unfortunately HB doesn't offer the market, but Marcum does.

on a side note, if you are getting a side imaging for the dash, go as big as possible, at least the 900 series, you won't regret it. it might hurt now, but its worth it. the 800 is the same footprint as the 900, but screen is smaller and looks dumb as a result. I'm talking Humminbird side imagers that is.

if cost is an issue, well worth it to just get the console and wait til next spring for the bow graph. imho.

Humminbird says their ice flashers are not intended for open water use --- they have it posted right on their HSOforum in the FAQ section .......

Don't they have something in the code to keep them from working properly in a moving environment? Typical market segmentation ploy.
