Ice Out on Big Chetac

Any updates on ice conditions from Big Chetac? Boats all gassed up(ouch) ready to go. I've got a guys weekend for April 30th.

I put a line out the other day and someone who lived north of BC said their lakes were all clear.

I'm going up tomorrow, I'll confirm this upon my return monday

I'll also add I'm planning on droppin the dock, lift, and boats in on the 30th weekend as well.

Definitely no ice left on the lake, we ended up putting the dock in yesterday.

I didn't get any fishing in, but the neighbors sounded like they were havin a blast.

Any idea on water temp?

Where are you at on the lake?

I actually said to a buddy who was up with me... MAN i wish my ice-35 had a temp on it! (all other temp guages are on the boat, which is not coming out of storage until this thurs)

It's pretty cold though. After moving 3 or 4 rocks into position so the dock would fit right you were not gonna grab another one... hands tooo numb! I'd guess mid 40's though.

I'm on the NE side, on east shore drive about 5 places north of "stress level LOW today" Or about 1 mile south of Red Cedar Springs, give or take. Been up there about a year now... absolutely love it.

Not sure I will get up there this weekend. I might try for the opener, water should be warmer by then.

Any updates on Water Temp? Trying to plan for this weekend, if it doesn't rain.

Should be warming up nicely with these sunny 70 degree days. I was out on the Chippewa Flowage Monday and it was 52 to 54 and I think Chetec warms up a little quicker. I'd guess you'll see close to 60 water temps there this weekend.
