Saw a boat on the lake today

Drove past Crystal Lake today and there was a pontoon boat out in the open water area. About three fourths of the ice was gone and the rest was dark slush.

gettin excited. live near crystal lake. bass can hit hard in the spring in the back cove past the launch, next. to 35. Prolly go out and try a cast or two within the week.

yeah i like to throw the classic beetle spin or a mepps size 2 for crappies ;-).. actually just spent 3 hours getting the boat cleaned. so i may go out tomorrow. Hollar if ya see a tan crestliner IO

I always thought those senkos KILLED the big, green, largemouth crappies. Seem to work for lots of guys on the lake....

Yup, early spring pannies can be fierce, make sure you use an extra heavy action baitcaster and don't forget to use a steel leader!

Saw my first boat on Tonka today. We were putting in a dock on Halsteads and some yahoo decided to hall butt around the bay. It looked like fun. Still some ice on the main lake, should be off soon.

FYI for folks that might not know, us dockers hate waves.

They may accept no excuses but they must not be out looking very hard. There are always guys out on the south metro lakes well before season starts.
