CrappieJohn
Tiger....I was there last weekend fishing and did very good. You don't indicate whether you are boating or will be shore-bound. I was in a boat at Duluth on Saturday and on the breakwater at Two Harbors Friday and Sunday. At TH the fish were as willing as they were in the boat. Many of the boaters were taking salmon, but I got into lakers by casting. I did not try any bait, but the time of year is soon approaching where you can use some crawler under a slip-float down about 8-10 feet on one line and cast hardware with the other. If you are fishing from the breakwater and have a south wind of any kind you can expect some salmon action. If the wind is from other directions, look for laker action to prevail. Go with a krokodile spoon of 3/8-1/2 ounce....gold w/ orange stripe. Cast, let drop to the bottom on a loose line (bail open) and then bring in slowly. ^ pound clear line is best. I use flourocarbon Vanish by Trilene.------------------Plastics...making better fishermen without bait! Good Fishing Guys! husker4u9899
CrappieTom,I have only one opportunity to be in the Two Harbors area each year and that is during the second week in June. We stay in Duluth for a couple of days on the way to Vermilion. Would I be wasting my time to fish from the breakwater that time of year? Your advice/information would be appreciated. Thanks
Animal
Yesterday Thur. I got a 8lb laker at approximately 6:00 AM shorecasting a gold and purple cleo.I let it sink to the bottom and it hit about 20 yards from the rocks. Fish hit on about 3 cast. Thank you Crappie Tom for your past posts about your spot. This was good way to start the day.
