Lowrance Endura Safari Marine

Recommended Posts

I am looking at getting this handheld gps. I see that it comes with a SD card for Hot Spots map. The lake that I primarily fish is on this disk. Does anyone else have this unit. Would you reccommend it? Could I ever also add a Lakemasteer chip to it. Thanks for any help.

I have a regular Safari and like it, I purchused the Lakemaster micro sd and seems to work out ok, like having the touch screen and being able to use the pad as well. use it on my wheeler on the lake and geocashing with the kids. would like to have street maps on mine but I am sure I can do an upgrade for that.

I would not recommend it due to it performance and history of having software issues, mapping issues, and recurring systems bugs. I also highly suspect it will become a "Legacy Unit" very soon, and a new unit will replace it.

My personally recommendation based on my hands on experience with the product would be for you to look at other options such as a Garmin hand held.

The Garmin 78, 78s, or 78sc, 62, Oregon 450i, Rhino 530 HCx, and the Dakota 20 would be some of my picks.

My Top pick for Marine and all around use, would be the Garmin 78sc.
