Open Water!

I made a trip to Des Moines today to meet up with a friend and hit up a reptile breeders expo that was going on, and as I drove south I kept a mental image of all the lakes and rivers we passed. Needless to say, I saw ice over MN lakes and waves in Iowa lakes.

HOWEVER on the way down it looked like Albert Lea Lake was iced up pretty good, but on the way back after a day of sunshine, above freezing temps, and wind, the ice looked on its last legs and going WAY out!!

Open water is progressing northwards and has hit MN lakes today laugh

I have a feeling that it won't be long up here in Duluth. However as I type this there is 20+ in. of ice on my favorite lake!crazy On my way back from baudette, I noticed the ditches are full of water, and the runoff has begun. I got a taste of open water fishing on the rainy and needless to say...I'M READY.
