So I'm taking a nap after watching the Twins (no comment, it's early), and the Mrs wakes me up and wants to know if I want join another couple and watch the Final Four BB at a local watering hole. I somewhat reluctently accept (It was one of those killer naps), after some good food and a few adult beverages the waitress says "The cup will be here in ten minutes" I let out a big laugh and reply "The Stanley Cup will be here in ten minutes????!!"

She wasn't kidding. I kissed the Stanley Cup tonight, and I liked it. smile

I also wore the ring, sorry Wild. And thanks Windy, if it wasn't for your team, I wouldn't have been at the right place at the right time. (Stanley's Fricken Cup!!!)

It was at Moose Country in Lilydale. I'm guessing it was Jonathan Toews old man who brought it in. He was wearing a Toews jersey and looked to be about the right age.

So it's in the Twin Cities guys, I'm guessing it will probably make another appearence at some other watering hole today. Good luck.

It's pretty cool that they let the general public touch it, let alone kiss it, I doubt you could do that with any of the other major sports trophies.

The cup is hands down the best and most prestigious trophy.

Oh, moose-county, I should have known.

It was actually Kevin Ryan, SVP or Wirtz beverage who owns the Hawks, and he lives in Mendota who had it there.

It was also at Lucky's too, dang I was there friday. I missed it by 1 day.

The Stanley Cup visited a few local hotspots Saturday night, due to a Mendota Heights man's affiliation with the Chicago Blackhawks NHL organization.

Kevin Ryan is senior VP of Wirtz Beverage Minnesota, a beverage distribution company in Minnesota and Iowa. The Wirtz family also happens to own the 2010 Stanley Cup-winning Chicago Blackhawks.

Ryan said he found out ten days ago when his day with the hallowed trophy would be.

The company organized an employee function for Saturday afternoon to celebrate the arrival of the Cup. Former Blackhawks goalie and Hockey Hall of Famer Tony Esposito was onhand at the event to sign autographs. Money raised from employee picture and poster sales with the cup will be donated to Minnesota Special Hockey, an organization that supports hockey programs for people with disabilities.

After the company fun, it was time to take the trophy to visit with some area clients, said Ryan, which include Lucky's 13 in Mendota, Bogey's and Moose Country in Lilydale. According to the Hockey Hall of Fame, a "Keeper of the Cup" is in attendence at all times to ensure its safety.

Surprised guests at the locales got to snap photos and pose with the Cup in all its glory.

Julie Flores and her friends from Woodbury were at the neighboring Joke Joint when someone told them to check out what was happening at Moose Country. The ladies lined up with others for cell phone and camera shots, and a story about the Saturday night when they met Lord Stanley's Cup.
