Cracked screen, time for a new one?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

My camera got left in my car during one of the cold stretches this winter and when I took it out of the glove box and turned it on, the lcd was smashed and you can't see anything. It takes pictures, but you can't see them until you "develop" them on the computer. Anyway, its nothing special and im assuming its a waste of money to replace a lcd screen. I am looking for some advice for a somewhat simple yet decent camera that can also take movies. Preferably $100 or less.

Thanks in advance,

ELE

You might look at the Kodak EasyShare line. They are simple and take video and can be under $100.

If that doesn't work out for you I might be persuaded to part with one of these babies for $100.

LeeKen - I also collect old cameras. I have one like the Polaroid on the right. smile

As far as replacing the camera with the cracked screen - we have had at least one of my kid's cameras do the same thing. We replaced them, then made sure they didn't get left in the car ever.

We looked at Consumer Reports before deciding on which ones we wanted to look at, then went to the store to hold them and try out the menu functions.
