I always find the fun in trying the lakes myself, heck you might not get many good leads here, but say you show up at the access, and someone is getting off a lake, they'd probably tell you if they caught fish, they may even give you a hint or two. I've fished a lake by me for years now, in the sole idea the lake had nice fish, and in good numbers, although I did poorly out there for a couple years off and on, this year, I have applied what I've learned, and it's paid big dividends. Honestly you'll probably not get many suggestions, online, you'll get some, but you'd be amazed what you can find out in person. If you are a good panfisher person, and couple quick trip out to a local spot would probably tell you if it's worth your time or not.

Search on google "mn dnr" use the lakefinder option on Minnesota's DNR sire to give you free maps of most lakes in the entire state, access locations, stocking reports, a little lake summary, and, types of fish caught in their surveys, and the sizes of fish caught. Understand these are not always the most accurate, and may be a couple years old, but it should give you a good idea of where to start in your area.

The Chisago lakes area is full of the type of water you're looking for. get out on the deep weed edge with a sixteenth oz. jig head and your favorite color 2" power bait twister tail on 4 or 6 lb line, and you will catch everything that swims. Go get'em, and Good luck!

Try Long Lake in New Brighton. Public boat access, fishing pier, nice park and beach, trails for rollerblading, walking and biking. Has Walleye, Pike, Catfish, some Crappies and Bluegills. Good Luck.
