New Toy

Well I just put in my order for a new John Deere 825i with Camoplast tracks. It should be in and rigged up by the end of April. I will get the cab and all the accessories sometime this summer. It is really easy to spend 4-6K in options, I mean the cab alone is 3200. I will post some pics once I get it.

Anybody else have one of these?

Gets delivered at Friday at 11am. They actually ordered me a JD green and yellow so they knocked off an additional 300 off. I had a choice to get the the hunter green but after thinking about it, I went with the Green and Yellow...

I got a good deal on that unit.

I just got the base model, I am going to wait a few months to buy accessories, as I have heard aftermarket suppliers are close to distributing them. I paid 10,100.00 out the door for a 2011 base model delivered. I also bought tracks not from JD but from another site, they were delivered to my house for 3561.00 It is really easy to add an additional 2-5K in accessories.

I tell you what I am in love with that gator. I am not a guy who buys a lot of new toys, don't get me wrong I have plenty of them but I am a person who likes to look for a good deal which typically means buying used. So needless to say I am pretty excited, it still has that new gator smell:). The only thing so far I am not crazy about is the small gas tank, why did they only put a 5.5 gallon tank on that thing? Other than that I might toss on the tracks in the next few weeks just go I can get them set up for quicker installation come next winter.

Now I need to get some accessories for the Gator, being it is a brand new model the prices are still high but I need a windshield and a roof soon.

More to come in the next few weeks.

$800 off? Not sure but it wouldn't surprise me with my luck... One thing I saw while looking to buy this, was make sure you read the fine print on what offers are currently out there. I paid cash so I didn't have worry about financing, but if it were 0% for 36 months it would have been foolish of me to pay it off early. When you read it says, 0% of 2011 Gators and in the small print, "EXCLUDES XUV" which is what I got.

Well so far I only have 27 miles on it or 4.7hrs. It is really a nice ride, I am not a guy who does any trail riding, but it sure is nice to jump on that gator and head to the back 40. The only negative comments I have is the gas tank is way to small, I mean 5 gallons what is up with that? Also ever accessory for this thing seems like it is over $500, I cant wait until aftermarket accessories hit the shelves.

Other than that I love the ride and just with stock tires I am more than happy with it's performance.

We did end up buying a new 825i last week. Got one that is completely decked out-alloy wheels with Bighorn Maxxis 2.0 tires, front and rear brush guards, guards around the front fenders and around the sides of the box, power lift on the box, rear OPS screen, bed liner and mat, tailight protectors, and floor mats. Extremely happy with the deal we got. So far we have put about 90 miles on it. Used it around home doing yard work and took one trail ride with it on Sunday. Can't believe how smooth it rode. Very, very impressed with it. Can't wait to haul some firewood with it this fall and hopefully a big whitetail buck or two.

Yes, several of the accessories are grouped in "packages". The tail light protectors and the bed liner are in the Deluxe Cargo Box package, the power lift on the box, the front brush guard, the front fender guards, and the rubber floor mats are in the Power & Protection Package, and the rear brush guard, cargo box fender guards, and the bed mat are in the Rear Protection Package. We were going to get just a base model to start with, but when we priced it decked out with everything above it was only $2000 more out the door than what the dealer quoted us for a base price. I just don't think we could go wrong. They even filled the gas tank for us, even though I have to agree with perchking the gas tank does seem a little small. To be honest when we buy something like this gas mileage is not a concern so we haven't checked it and probably never will. It's for work around our property and for a little bit of trail riding, so it doesn't matter to us. As far as your trade, sorry, can't help you there because I have no idea what your stuff would be worth. I feel that you rarely come out good on a trade, so it's always better to sell your stuff outright. The 825's are $800 off this month, which helped too. Good luck with a decision. It's hard to beat a John Deere product, so if you do get one I'm pretty sure you'll like it. grin

thanks

Yea I understand selling stuff yourself is better, and you might get a better deal.

I Asked about trade value on my rhino and 6x4 gator together and it was way less than what this dealer said for JUST my rhino.....plus the gator is older and what not but it SOUNDED good to me for my rhino...( I think)

Just got to think about it alittle more i guess.......

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
