Islandlaker
I currently have a Garmin eTrecx HC, I love it it, besides the fact that I can not put a micro SD card into it. I want to upgrade and get one that has micro SD capability. It would be easy to upgrade to the eTrex HCx. However I don't have any experience with any other types of GPS so I don't know what I may be missing. I want the micro chip for more detailed maps for hunting and fishing. What do you guys run? pulleye16
I also wanted maps and lots of them on my gps. From topography to lake maps, gamrin is what I suggest. Many options for the garmin device and you can find lots of software (for free even) that is compatible with garmin (google for one). Is money an issue? Good deals on the Dakota series if you look. The 20 takes cards, I have the 10 which takes downloads. I have lakemasters on there along with a topography map of the entire MN area...and still have plenty of room for more maping downloads. It has the touch screen which I haven't had any issues with rain, cold, gloves...I don't like the sunlight glare as it can be tough to see during bright skies on the lake. Screen size is kind of small. Check out the Nuvi series if your main use is going to be lake viewing, very nice screen.
