Wanderer,

The best part about staying with GNO is that after you get your limit of slabs, you can be on awesome trout water in about a 20 minute sled ride.

We didn't fish crappies this year, but our last trip up there trouting in February was nothing short of amazing. We got over 100 trout in 3 days with 6 of us. One of those days 4 of us only fished for 1/2 day and spent the rest of the time building a giant igloo. Caught 8 trout and a pike out of it the next day.

Looking forward to getting some slabs this spring! We've gotten on them the last 3 or 4. We've started releasing everything over 14", and some days its hard to find any to keep!

You did much better than we did. We thought about swinging in there Friday but kept pressing north. We ended the trip with 5 crappies, 5 walleyes and 11 football perch. As usual "Thing long, think WRONG!" One of these days I will learn to go with my gut.
