2007 Silverado Radio

Recommended Posts

I am having a problem with the radio in my 2007 Silverado, When I turn the truck off, pull the key out, and open the door the radio will stay on and the interior lights will not come on. I have tried to look through the manuals and can not find anything, I have also gone through all of the options on the dash.

I hope I have given you enough information.

Hop, I have had this issue with my VW before.

It most likely is the same for most vehicles these days. The micro switches in the door. They tend to get dirty. Ive been putting off changing it out as its not a very cheap part (at least for my car)

Ive taken electrical cleaner and sprayed it in where the door latches to the fab. I then sprayed a silcone electrical grade lubricant in there.

Basically you probably have some dirt inside the door panel that is causing micro switches to act up.

Is the locking mechanism in the door pretty much the same or close to it on a vw capt obvious wink?

Just to be clear, the radio also has a timed shut off after I believe 10 minutes, even if you stay in the truck and never open the door, does this function work?

And, if the dome lights dont work even with the dash switch, that should overide the door switch even if it is bad. This could possibly be a BCM problem, are the fuses all good?
