bluegill question

just wonderin wat u guys think is a mountable bluegill, i caught one thats a pound and a quarter , and my buddies and i r tryin to fill up an ice house with mounts, thanx for any input

For myself, instead of making a wall of mounted fish, I'm making a wall of pictures. For the large fish I catch, I take a picture, release the fish, then I get the pict blown up to around 24x12, frame it, and viola! Something as good as a mount, less expensive, and best of all, the fish can be caught another day. Maybe try something like that instead. Good luck!

One of my goals is to get some nice mounts. I will probably prefer to get replicas just because they look better and last longer. If your going to have them in a shack you should think about that. My uncle has some mounts from about ten years ago that he put on his back porch. They are worthless now. The gigantic Northern he had a replica made of is in perfect condition. I am neutral when it comes to catch and release, just for the record so I am not implying anything except that if the mount is going to experience some weather think replica. Thanks for reading.

I have no problem with a person keeping a fish to mount...

HOWEVER, I like the picture idea more and I'll tell you why... I have a wall of fame in my house.. I get pictures blown up to 8-10...

Mounts are great, but they only show the fish and often times they dont even look like the fish...

With a picture you get your expression, your smile.. your goofy clothes you got on.. your rip in your carpet on your boat.. MEMORIES.. a mount looks nothing like what is in your memory! A mount is a picture perfect rendition of what heppened, why not have actually what happened...

mounts are cool.. pictures tell the whole story! Like I said.. If people want to mount fish I think thats great... This is cheeper, lets the fish live and give you so much more to talk about...
