Shiner shortage?

I was thinking of going to one of the lakes a little further north to try for some eyes before the season ends. Some other years at this time I had a hard time finding decent shiners at the local bait shops up there. Anyone know if this is a problem this year? I know that Frankies in Chisago has a good supply of large ones right now, so I could make a detour and get them there if I need to.

The reason for it is, because it's close to the end of the season for walters and Pike so most bait shops don't want to over order, and have a bunch of shiners just sitting around.

It's all about inventory management. You have to think of things with a business mind, because all small business owners (like tackle shops) are striving to make every penny go further. No small business owner is going to buy product(in bulk) with the chances of being left with a bunch of obsolete inventory (ie when the walleye/pike season closes) especially in today's economic conditions.
