Learn something new every day. I am relatively new to this sport with only a few years experience.

FWIW, I run one of my dogs in an amateur event every year, maybe two this year. I've judged an amuteur event, and usually volunteer to plant birds in one event each year. What I'm saying, is I've seen a fair amount of dogs in the last few years from professionals to amateurs and have never run across this type of set-up. I have seen them mounted on the hind quarters though.

As I said originally, there's usually more than one way to do things. Thanks for the lesson.

My black loop is placed all the way over where it actually touches the silver button/rivet.

I hope the "lesson" helps when you need a bit more or think you need to try something different.
