stealth3350 Posted February 10, 2011 Share Posted February 10, 2011 ok so i pickled a batch of panfish 2 wks ago. i just tried it today.. im not real sure how its sapost to taste . iv had haerring years ago. it seems kinda bitter.. i went off a recipe on hear. soak in brine 2 day and 1 day in vinegar.. the mixture that goes in the jar i folled the recipe.. i added some peppers and fresh lemons and onions.. so i took one jar emptied half the liguid out and added more wine. maybe more sugar... any suggestions or opinion would be appreciated Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
KEN W Posted February 11, 2011 Share Posted February 11, 2011 If you followed the recipe,did you do this???They should not be bitter with all that sugar in there.3rd Step: Make your brine. Pour 3 cups of white vingar into a pot and add 3 of Sugar. Bring this to a boil. The brine must cool before it is put in the jars so allow yourself the amount of time you will need to do this.
