Frabill Predator

Well I took some rewards money I had laying around and decided to use it to buy a new fish house for a friend and finance for their wedding present. Took my friend to the Big C for the surprise and let him pick out what he wanted. After sitting on all displays he decided on the Predator which would have also been my initial choice. Paid and picked up in the warehouse we traveled back to start the assembly process. After an hour sled and poles assembled we opened the 900 denier top and Velcro to poles. Then we found it.

Seems both sides of the front wind skirt by where your legs are have poor workmanship sewing. One sides stitching was out and other side was already coming half undone. What a disappointment.

Called the Big C customer service, talked to a man that could understood the pain of hours and the meaning of spending 700 dollars on manufacturing defects out of the box. Guy said to disregard the disassembly and return in condition it is right at our stopping point. Thank god because never getting all part to fit as snug in box as originally purchased.

Any advice on the return. Would owners of this fish house recommend I try another one? I hope to not get burned again by a Frabill. They had a Clam Voyager TCX for the same price. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

We assemble many of the Frabill Predators and R-2 Techs each season. And it usually will take 1 hour, to 1.5 hours tops.

Not sure what all happened with your unit there?

After many assemblies this season, none have showed any problems for us.

It always helps to ready the set up manual completely through first, then begin the assembly.

I would confidently recommend the Frabill Predator, and the Frabill R2-Tech Predator to anyone whom wished a heavy duty class 2 man portable shack.

(Note) They also have step bye step set up videos on the Frabill site if that is more helpful than the printed manual.)

Price match's only work if they can confirm it is a like model, and a in stock item. Not on sold out items.

Retailers call each other 100's a times a day to confirm these price match requests and in stock dispositions.

FYI: Gander has them $75 off this week too. If that helps any.
