gdog
Has anyone been spearing on Pelican Lake near Monticello? A guy that I work with fishes that lake a lot and has caught some nice pike and I am thinking about heading out there this weekend to try it out. Any advice of where to go would be much appreciated. It is a huge lake.

gdog
Thanks. It sucks to go to a lake, cut a hole, and then realize you might as well pack everything up.

tsande00
If you decide to go to Pelican and it's too dirty, go to Maple Lake and spear out all the little hammer handles! Maple is very clear.

Fisherman1526
Last year was nice and clear and got some fish, this year too dirty. Been keeping my eye on it, been getting a little better but you still lose the decoy at 4 ft. IMO it takes the fun out of it when you gotta work to look down the hole. Sunnie
To save some work drill a hole send down a decoy and check the clarity prior to going through the work. Pull your hood or a blanket over your head to cut the reflection.
