Battery questions

I am in need of a new deep cycle battery for the trolling motor. what kind have people had good luck with. Also, is it best to recharge after every use or wait till it drains befor recharging. I have heard differing opinions on this. Thanks

I use Trojans for my trolling motors and have had pretty good luck with them.

I have been told that you want to charge the batteries after each use, no matter how much or how little you used them. Always keep a charge on them. Like you said, there are differing opinions but this is what has worked for me.

Interstate, and a deep cycle has no memory. You don't need to discharge completely, in fact that is not a good thing to do.

Best bet is get an automatic deep cycle charger so you don't over charge it and when you use it put the charger on it ASAP.
