I have been having alot of trouble with computer for days now. If I enter a HSOforum on yahoo or google, some survey pops up, and you can't get out of it. Or it takes you to a completely different HSOforum. And another thing it is doing is it is saying it has encountered a problem and must close. I have ran system restore twice now and it hasn't fixed it

You've either got some spyware / malware running on your system or even a strange toolbar attached to your web browser.

I guess the first thing I do is go to your add / remove programs area and get rid of ALL toolbars listed, you can always reinstall the ones you want.

Then do a full scan with malwarebytes and see what it finds and remove it.

I had Internet Explorer crashing a couple days ago, if you entered a search at MSN, IE would completly crash, enter that same search at google and it worked fine. Ended up reverting to an older version of IE for the time being and it worked just fine with MSN again.

Good luck.

You definitely have some sort of malware on your computer. You say you have done a system restore twice but my guess is that you are not going back far enough. Pick a date as far back as 2 to 3 months ago as long as you know for sure that your computer was running good at that time. If you are not sure pick a date as far back as your system has recorded. If you go back as far as you can and still have problems then you are going to have a little fun in store for you wink

Like MnMike said get your self a download of Malwarebytes and it would not hurt to download some SuperAntiSpyware. If you have problems finding them you can check out Filehippo or CNET downloads. If you try to run them and they refuse it will be because of the malware. If that happens let us know and I will give you directions on how to get around it.

A new app anti malware out there called combo fix, it is a good one top.

Whenever you get some sort of malware/spyware download a copy of Ccleaner. It does a good job of cleaning out the spots where that krap dumps itself to keep re installing. Or if you want to manually clear it out go to c:\windows\prefetch. You would be surprised at how much easier it is to clean that stuff up when you take away it's hiding spot where it re-installs itself from. There may be others, but that is far and away the most popular.

I might have to correct myself a bit, I believe what ultimately ended up fixing the crashing of IE on the MSN search was AVG, I ended up uninstalling AVG completely and everything was fine.

Not sure if Zamboni is using AVG but it might be another item to check on.
