Lowrance H20C question

I am getting a little upset with my unit or maybe it is just me. I will get on the ice of a lake that I have waypoints saved and when I hit find it will get me to the general area but not to the exact point I need to be. Once I get close it never goes below 4 feet to the destination or if it does it always says I am 2 feet to the left or right but when I go 2 or 3 feet in that direction it says 2 or 3 feet in the other direction. I can drill a hole in a certain spot and mark it on my GPS and walk 100 feet away from it and then choose find on my GPS and the closest it gets me is maybe 6 to 8 feet away. Is there a better screen to have up on this thing to make it easier and more accurate to find a spot you are looking for? I use the standard screen it gives you after you use find a waypoint and I think it is terrible to get you to the right spot you are looking for.

Like mentioned before, around 7 or 8 feet is the closest it will bring you to your spot. Consumer WAAS is crippled to only get to that close. There are better ones out there, but if I told you I'd have to kill you, wink, wink.

2-3 foot for a unit is very good. In agriculture applications a free siginal will usually be within a few feet. If you want somthing better then that you need to pay a couple grand a year for a siginal which could then be gauranteed to put you within inches, but would only be applicable where the siginal covers from set up RTK towers.

My question is why would 2 of 3 feet be an issue? I would think you could jig a fish in from that distance.

That's what I was thinkin'. I'm actually surprised it gets you that close. I thought anything under 8-10 feet was pretty good.
