When I first started working in health care about 8-9 years ago I use to see an ad

of a lady who had tar all over her face. Under the picture it said "Would people still smoke if the consequences were more obvious?".

The percentage of smokers has not changed in the last 8-9 years, it remains at 20% unfortunately.

I just don't see the allure.

I just don't see the allure.

Your fortunate. Count your blessings. I'm a few months since my last one, and hope the "allure" (obsession) doesn't come back....but, I do know of it! It's a powerful evil!

I don't know if it will work or not,but it will make people think about it since they will see it every time they pull a cig out.

Keep up the good work goose89! No reason to go back once you've gone this long. I smoked for years without ever thinking about quitting until I had a few days of smokers cough. That was the only message I needed and its been 15 years now without one.

There is no "allure" but a very strong addiction.

I have quit since Jul 5,1999

It took three try's. After stopping for 2 years the second time and realizing just how easy it was to get "hooked" again I know that I can not have any nicotine products.

Not one Puff !

Unfortunately, there seems to be no or a negative correlation when these messages are put on cig packages. Can't remember where I heard this but in most Countries where this has been tried, smoking did not go down...in some it went up. Though it may seem to be a contradiction, my theory is that outdoorsmen smoke more than the average Joe. Probably due to solitude or just plain access. The same goes for "creative" people...photographers, artists, actors, ect. Just a personal theory...that would be the ideal subject for some sort of paper. Anybody studying sociology?

My wife, who had been smoking for over 30 years, quit last year with the help of e-cigarettes. Google them. They are the best!

I've been using these since February. As Steve said, they are definitely the best. I smoked for about 40 years. The best way to learn about these is to google e-cigarette forum. I thought they were all hype until I found a forum with close to 50,000 members.

    • Your kid needs to stay with him!👍
    • My kid was eating in Beverly Hills and ran into this guy. Talked to him a bit and wished him luck in the game tonight.
    • 🤔as a recovering machinist!🤣🤣that must make me a recovering welder!
    • As a recovering machinist, I can appreciate that.  If the spec is 0.001 - 0.0015, then clearly the correct measurement is 0.00125, duh…
    • I just figured that it is easy enough to just get a 3 bank so when the boat is not in use I can keep all 3 batteries charged. I have not bough a charger yet, maybe I will give it some more thought. Edit: After thinking this over, with the size, weight, and heat output of the charger (as well as the cost) I think it makes sense to just buy a 2 bank charger, I have a smaller charger i can use on the starting battery when the boat is sitting at home. Forgive me, for i am a retired engineer and I have to obsess over everything...
    • Congrats on the motor!  I think you’ll like it.   I can’t say much on the charger location but I’ve seen them under the lid in back compartments and under center rod lockers.  160 degrees is more than I expected to hear.   Curious why you’re opting for a 3 bank charger with a 24V trolling motor.  Unless you don’t feel you be running you big motor enough to keep that battery up as well?
    • I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius) says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
    • You're very lucky a troop of Sea Monkey's didn't carry you away.
    • Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe.  I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho.  Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
