MJ1657
Mine is John Deere green and yellow. Just used some spray paint and masking tape. I bet powder coating would be really nice.

Early Riser
To each his own on the painting idea. Personally I would not do it to a really good higher end spear. In fact in talking with a few of the master spear makers still around today, and other avid collectors, thay all emphatically state that a quality spear should never be painted. It has to do with covering up the workmanship of the spearmaker, as well as interfering with the natural aging process of quality steel which inhibits what collectors refer to as the metal's patina. When you look around at really nice older spears, it is easy to appreciate this perspective.

adaylate
Laska, A little off the topic, but to answer your question about lake Sakatah...I drove by this afternoon and there was 4 spear houses out and the blocks looked to be a good 6 inches..There was a pressure ridge running across the middle of the lake heading from south shore towards the north shore...If all goes as planned I will be heading out from the north shore on saturday and would be able to give you a more accurate report then.
