What happened to all the CWD buzz this year?

What happened to all the CWD buzz we have heard in years past? Haven't seemed to hear much about having to kill all the deer off because of it this year? Did the DNR even doing any testing at Reg sites at all this year? confused

last year our deer had body parts taken for samples but now this year with the new antler point restriction were we register the check station the dnr sets up there, i think this year they are only interested with measuring buck antlers. must be looking for a pattern in sizes of the legally taken bucks but we didnt do it since i only had a spike that i legally took since i was exempted from the APR reg and the rest were does. the two times we went to register the dnr asked if any bucks were shot and if so if they could measure and score them. Maybe the CWD in our area is obsolete so they stopped testing

either that or the realized that it was just that, hype. yeah a few deer had it and maybe they realized it wasnt as big of a problem as they first thought kind of like the dird flu or the swine flu.

That's the way I think about it as well. It's kind of like the hole in the ozone. Just because we now have equipment to know it is there how do we know there hasn't always been a hole, or some CWD in the herd now that we can find some? confused
