Favorite spots for tenting it

Im looking for a nice campground I can take my family to thats close to some good fishing. We will be tenting it so not an RV park. Something on the quiet side as far as kids and beer partys. most of the state parks close to the lake are allready booked for june Anyone have any good suggestions?

STONEY POINT CAMPGROUND ON LEECH LAKE

If you don't mind trading the lake in for a trout stream, try Whitewater state park. If you get there early you can get a spot right on the stream. Waking to the sound of that stream is awesome. There's also a swimming beach across the street in Trout Run. Not sure how cold that is but the kids might enjoy it anyway.

There is a lot of cammp site in the crosby area.With lots of mines to try some fishing,swiming.And they are free. frist come bacis.Good Luck.

Try one of several islands on Lake Vermilion. The kids can have their own island to run around on. Great campgrounds w/ firepits, outhouses, etc-and FREE!

Voygagers National Park. Kabatogama & Namakan lakes have improved sites on islands and shorelines. Fishing is usually pretty good in June on both of these lakes. Go to the National Park Service HSOforum or to the Kabatogama/Namakan forum for more information. I camped at Voyagers with my kids for 15 years and we always had a great time.

Two that I like for different reasons:

Pleasant Pines Resort near Hackensack on Pleasant Lake (good bass, walleye, crappie) is as youd escribe - pretty quiet, good fishing.

Cottonwood Campground near Deer River - you will most likely be the only one in this unstaffed campground of 10-12 spots. There is a water pump and an outhouse and nothing else. Very quiet under the pines. Near good fishing on Deer Lake and Island Lake.

Scenic state park. It's on a really neat all-natural shoreline lake with stict pike slots that make getting big northers a little easier. Panfish and bass too. I camped there two summers ago and didn't even think of making a reservation. I just checked their availability and they are wide open in June.
It's remote but has all the nice park things like a log nature building, swimming area, fishing pier, docks, Shower etc. One of those off the beaten path parks. I highly recommend it.

McCarthy State Park, Side Lake (north of Hibbing/Chisholm.

Deer Lake Campground, Cut Foot.

Father Hennepin or Kathio, Mille Lacs.

All nice places.
