Gordie
Got to the big lake this morning and found ice at the landing about 60-70 yrds out it was real easy to bust thru and quite soft well we made our journey to the spot that we had seen all the duck at on friday and the wind ahad switched so it was blowing into that spot. We decided to go off a differnt point and got set up and a couple mins after shooting starts two mallards come right up the line and we nailed them both then we started seeing a few birds filter thru but not the numbers of friday nothing would decoy close enough to get a shot off at. I think all the birds we saw or most all around 700 birds left in the moon light before the cold weather hit last night. heres a few pics from the landing when we returned also founsd a nice hole in the boat darn rocks. The ice was all the way out past that wed point felt like a coast guard ice breaker on the wat in..
Chad Peterson
Hey elwood, how thick was the ice? I drove around to the lakes that ice up first and it is starting to go. I would have to say it will be walkable by Thanksgiving. Can not wait.Sniffer
Gordie
half to a inch I think most of it blew across the bat but it was locking up together pretty darn fast and yes I think I'll be walking ice on thanksgiving or hunting the river
