Public Hunting Areas in So. Central Mn

I'm coming up to Mn 11/22 thru Thanksgiving. Although I have a uncle with land to hunt south of Mankato, I'd like to try some public hunting grounds. Is there a map or HSOforum that will show these areas between Mankato and Rochester? Thanks

Try the Minnesota DNR HSOforum recreational compass. Most sporting goods stores also have public hunting area maps for sale.

You can locate a file on the DNR's HSOforum that you can load into google earth.

I called Gander Mntn. and they said they have a map that shows all the areas. I'll get one when I stop in there to get some acc. for my Otter. Thanks anyways.

You would be better off going west of Mankato instead of east.

Right, I live in Albert Lea and I would also recomend to go west for your best chances.

Just use the recreation compass on the DNR...Head west for sure, Nicollet is a good starting point.
