cleaning aluminum hull with paint/decals

what's everyones advice on cleaning last years "scum" off painted aluminum hulls with decals and such. don't want to take everything off, just last years buildup. thanks in advance. later.

I use a product called SAFE-AcidReplacement Hull cleaner. You can find it at most marine dealerships.

I use starbrite on my lund. wallmart and fleetfarm carry it.

I had luck with car wash liquid. It took some scrubbing in some spots (but so does my truck!), I also bought the StarBrite and also a 3M Marine cleaner...but it didn't do much better than the car wash liquid! -- Andy

Fleet Farm has a product called Zep-alum, this stuff is amazing. My roomate dilutes it with water and puts a little simple green in it. Takes brake dust off rims without scrubbing, cleans the shower without scrubbing, even puts it in the washing machine and gets your whites even whiter.
