Dont know if any of you remeber few years ago i posted a few pics of a 3 legged doe we had on our property, the leg was clean gone so it was born with only 3 legs. When we had it on cam 2 years ago it was a good size so probably 1.5 years old then. Had her on cam tons but never saw her in the woods during the season. Didnt have her on cam last year thinking she was probably dead. Well low and behold one of the guys in our party comes in saturday night with her. Crazy to think this doe was probably 4 years old and was able to live that long with only 3 legs in an area where wolves are being seen more and more. Crazy what these animals can do.full-17060-3193-untitled.jpg

I shot a doe about 4 years ago that appeared normal. When I found her, one of her rear legs was just hanging there like rubber. I figured she had been hit by a car several years prior. Worst darn meat I've ever ate! Resilient creatures, they never seize to amaze me.

Shoot a 3 legged Doe 4 or 5 years ago. The only reason I shoot her was because I thought she was wounded. Had heard some shooting from the direction that that she came from, but when I walked up to her she wasn’t wounded at all. Her leg was tucked right up to her chest. She was either born that way or got hit by a car or something when she was young. This deer also had two fawns with her. When I talked to the land owner he had be seeing this deer around for 3 or 4 years. So they can surly get by on three legs just fine.

One of my past employees (retired) had a 3 legged doe that lived near her house in the woods. They would see her throughout the year for many years. She had fawns every year that they could remember. Surprisingly enough they also had a bear that lived in the same area. Guess she could still make it around just fine. (and the bucks didn't mind I guess)
