Hole Lights

Just bought an Ice Castle and am stoked to get it on the ice! It's all ready to go, but I would like some sort of light by the hole. The interior is all finished and dont really know how I could hide the wires if I am connected to the main batteries. Are there any kind of good battery operated lights that will last longer than a couple of hours or would I just be going through dozens of AA's all winter long. Any input?

when i biult my house i installed hole lights thinking that i would use them all the time but the fact is i rarely use them. I think they shine down the hole to much in really clear water imo.

I dont understand the thought of the hole lights. When fishing at night you always have a little light on to see. During the overnight hrs..if you get a fish on flip a light on and reel em in. I think the hole lights are just eye candy for the house and are a waste of time and wiring. Dont get them.

I have some 12 volt led license plate lights that I'm using in my house. They only draw 20 milliamps. I'd bet you could get more then a few hours of a 9 volt battery if you had to.

What about using a smaller vexlar style battery?
