How scent free...

Recommended Posts

I should be bottling some stuff, last night in high winds and 6 deer about 100 yards down wind and the wind howling they still winded me, I was 15 feet up in my stand, they got a good nose and it isn't easy to trick, definitely depends on where you hunt, how many bodies are in your woods on your fencelines etc. Best scent killer used to be the dairy barn, but those farms are long gone as well as those milking cows, man I've been airing out my clothes since mid-october and they still in that wild wind found me, they were within 5 feet of my stand but once they jumped the fence and fed out and I knew they got in my wind path, snort snort snort etc., I wasn't even sure my scent was getting to ground level as hard as the wind was blowing. Learned a bit, wonder if the 99% free if they would've winded me ? Irrelevant, as they were does and fawns but how many times do deer we never see smell us and slip for the thick jungle ?
