A Finn Bay Photojournal

Fall is my favorite time of year. Cooler temps, great smells, a celebration of the last days of the year without a world covered with snow. And, oh yes, the color! The blazing maple, birch, tamaracs, poppler and oak against a blue sky or reflected in the water of a lake or pond rivals any beauty in the natural world.

Even after the color is gone, there is a beauty in the starkness between the overwhelming fall palette and the complete whiteness that winter brings. Even in the bland grays and browns, bits of color hang on that shine like beacons from among the undercover. Here are a few I encountered this past week:

Enjoy what remains of autumn. I'm heading to the deer shack this afternoon and won't be back until next week. See ya then!
