Shack
Which one? Amazingly people are telling me, people I know, that they feel Chilly is going and Moss will stay. I do not see this happening, but weirder things have happed I guess. What do you?
Shack
Interesting results. Well, Moss is: Quote: Moss officially on waivers Posted by Judd Zulgad Last update: November 2, 2010 - 3:46 PM Randy Moss' second stint with the Vikings officially came to an end on Tuesday. The Vikings placed the wide receiver on waivers, according to Fox Sports and ESPN. That means there now will be a 24-hour process in which he can be claimed. The deadline for teams to claim Moss will be 3 p.m. Wednesday. The top 10 teams in order of waiver claims are Buffalo (0-7), Carolina (1-6), Dallas (1-6), San Francisco (2-6), Denver (2-6), Detroit (2-5), Vikings (2-5), Cincinnati (2-5), Cleveland (2-5), San Diego (3-5). Moss will be owed the balance of his $6.4 million salary ($3.888 million) if he is claimed. If he passes through waivers the Vikings will owe Moss the remaining $3.888 million on his deal and another team could sign him as a free agent for approximately $450,000. The decision by Vikings coach Brad Childress to jettison Moss after four games with the team has caused big controversy and questions about Childress' job security because of the way he handled this move. Childress told his players on Monday he was going to waive Moss but he was not placed on waivers by the 3 p.m. deadline. Moss, who was selected by the Vikings in the first round of the 1998 draft and played for the team through 2004, had 13 receptions for 174 yards and two touchdowns in four games with Minnesota. While the move did not become official until 3 p.m., the Vikings weekly game release that was put out earlier in the afternoon had Moss being waived in its roster moves section. CORRECTION A quote that was attributed to Randy Moss' agent, Joel Segal, that ran in the Access Vikings blog Monday was not from Segal but rather someone posing as him on what proved to be a phony e-mail account. The Star Tribune regrets the error. Get A LOad of the retraction the Triboon snuck in this piece. Quote: If Moss refuses to report, his 2011 status will be tied to new CBA Posted by Mike Florio on November 2, 2010 5:26 PM ET With receiver Randy Moss now on waivers, his next destination will be determined by the waivers process. But what if a team for which Moss doesn't want to play makes a claim for his services? Moss can refuse to report. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello tells us that, if Moss doesn't show, the team would have the ability to send a "five-day letter" explaining that, if he doesn't report within five days, he could be placed on the Reserve/Left Squad list. If placed on the Reserve/Left Squad list, Moss would not be able to play for anyone over the balance of the 2010 season. Things would then get interesting come 2011. Aiello explained via e-mail that, if a player is on the Reserve/Left Squad list at the end of the season, his status for 2011 "would be determined by the terms of the new CBA." In other words, it's possible that Moss would remain the property of the team that claims him on waivers. It's also possible that he would become eligible for unrestricted free agency. If he remains the property of the team that claims him on waivers and persists in his refusal to play for that team, he could essentially be forced into retirement. The better question, in our view, is whether the current rules would keep Moss under the thumb of the team that claims him; with all of the other uncertainty under the CBA, we simply don't see that provision changing. We've inquired as to the terms of the current rule, and we're waiting for the answer. Maybe Moss is actually a very smart man who was playing for a horribly run and coached team? You Chilly haters could have your day soon.
echotrail
So ow long does each team have (Buffalo is first) to claim him off of waivers?
