Muskie weekend

I am looking to do some WI muskie fishing next weekend, where do you guys suggest staying and fishing near they hayward area?

No idea where you should stay. Fishing this time of year can be tough. For action I would say Lost Land would be your best bet. Maybe drift a sucker and cast some dawgs simultaneously. For size I would say the Flowage is still the best bet, though Round, LCO and Grindstone may throw up some big fish. The advantage of the latter 3 is trolling is legal, so throwing out a spread and trolling breaklines could net a decent fish.

Gotta agree with everything Nick said and add Spider Lake and Sand Lake (the Sand near Stone Lake) to his list. Pretty good numbers in both of those lakes.

As far as hotels/resorts go, several nice hotels in town and if you'd like to stay on the water, the Chip has quite a few decent resorts. I know Trelands runs a first class operation. There was a bad report last year on a resort on Grindstone. Can't remember the name of it off the top of my head but just wanted you to be aware of that.

Good luck out there, I'll be out on one of the lakes Saturday fishing for the big toothy critters with my grandson. Not sure which one though.
