Pearl White Shad Rap?

While I was cruising the Expo last weekend, I stumbled across some pearl white SR5 Shad Raps. A fishing pro was there at the "ask a pro booth" talking about hand lining rigs for rivers. I asked him what he used for lures on this (new to me rig). He showed me his tackle case and there was the purdiest rapala I've ever seen! I said "Where in the heck did you find that? did you paint it?". "No," He said, "they only have them in Canada."

The guy (and I'm really sorry I forgot his name) ended up giving me the shad rap...Probably thought that would get me to leave smile.gif So I'm walking around afterwards and I pop in at the Bobber Shop's booth (Mankato). I say "You guys ever see these before?" and I show him the lure. He looks over and says "You mean those?" and points to a bunch laying on the counter. "Ya! Those!" I said gleefully. "We import um from Canada" he says.

Well, I can't figure out how this Pearl White Rapala Shad Rap ever escaped my watchful eye but it did! Its like, have I been in a cave for a while or what! I reached for the Visa (Yes, the one I should have left at home) and helped myself to a nice little supply! I think they're gonna look real nice with red hooks too!

I've bought them Pearl SR's in up couple shops up this way too. Strieff's and the Holiday in Warroad have both stocked them at times the past few seasons. Another Canadian color in SR's you don't see too often is GFR, gold/flo red. Both catch fish well! See them on hsolist now and then and people are duped into paying big bucks for them there!

Bought my first pearl Shad Rap at Reed's in Walker about 2 years ago. It is pretty chewed up with teeth marks in it from the 'eyes and it's pretty scratched up from the smallies. It's a good bait to cast or troll, no doubt.

Since I couldn't wait I went over to the bobber shop and got one of those pearl white Shad Raps.

They only had the SR-5 and SSR-5&7. I ended up getting the SR-5. They also had the GFR or gold/flo red Shad Raps there. They looked kind of sweet too. But since the lures were $7.99 I only wanted one to start out with. smile.gif

I cant wait to try it out now. Here I come fishies! grin.gif
