0 gregg52
tell me alittle more about this short version of how they workyou can set them to follow the break on structe?????? or what ever you want follow???
0 Northlander
Mike e-mail Cliff he has one and loves it. We used it in big winds to anchor the boat and I was really surprised how well it worked. I will be getting one if I upgrade my trolling motor.I wouldnt hesitate at all. You can follow a trolling pattern over and over, anchor without having a anchor. The only issue Cliff says he has some times is if a person is sitting in front of the trolling mnotor, like my big butt was, the remote wont always signal through that person as well as the Co-pilots do. 0 Mike Stark
i found the answer. cant use a foot pedal with the powerdrive v2 but can use the foot pedal with the terrova
0 Palerider77
Yep, works great, I put one on a power drive, I don't find myself missing my foot pedal very often (dog liked to lay on it and the boat would go around in circles ). I fish rivers mainly and love the anchor feature. All features work well, I would not hesitate to recommend it.
0 GrizzlyAdams
How is it on battery life? Heard that they will draw the battery down faster. Still sounds like a great tool though. Looking at getting a 12v motor and running 2 batteries with it. How long will they last with ipilot?
0 Northlander
Grizzly we used it all day in BIG winds on Vermillion and it didnt die down at all. I think we fished almost 8 hours with it. I think as with any trolling motor 2 good batteries are a must.
0 gregg52
so what do you actually buy is it like a remote device and is the tervoa already programed for it ??how much are they
0 GrizzlyAdams
Thanks Northlander, Was looking at it this summer and the sales associates didn't know too much yet but thought it would wear down batteries pretty fast. Will have to add that to my purchase then. Love the idea of not having to throw out an anchor. Always seem to have issues with it pulling up and drifting. This would make it much easier. Would seem easier to relocate a few feet also without having to lift anchor, move, drop anchor, repeat. Gets to be a pain.
0 shortfatguy
I have a 70 pound thrust powerdrive V2. It is the 24 volt with iPilot. I can fish all day and still have 75 to 80% battery life. And I have not had to change the remote battery all summer.

0 Wish-I-Were-Fishn
Yeah, unless you use two anchors you loss actual position anyway.
0 Northlander
Dont get me wrong its not like your locked up with 2 anchors and no swaying at all but I was impressed at how well it did keep us on the spot.
0 gregg52
when i anchor this boat it sways alot cuz i cant really anchor right off the front but i think its good to move some depends on if you are bobber fishing or casting but if it keeps me in the general area i would be happy sometimes in big winds it takes me 2-3 times to get it to hold lota work for ole man like me but usally worth the effort i did look at the site i see it isnt cheap i hope to do some different rigging on the boat in the spring different locatrs new gps etc etc i'll hafta to see how the $$$$$$ but i think i will get one soooner or later
0 goose89
Worth every penny IMO. Not cheap, but what is? You could have 1/2 the amount tied up in 2 top of the line anchors and 200ft of quality anchor rope. And anchor lock is just the beginning of what it can do. 0 remington 300
heres my take on the i-pilots, this spring i bought a terrrova 24 volt,80lb 60 inch shaft trolling motor with the ipilot factory installed, and absolutly love it,it came with a foot pedal but i havent even plugged it in yet, no need, besides you cant use all the features with the pedal, all of the advanced features are controlled thru the remote, like the spotlock, advanced autopilot, cruise control, record a track, track back, the remote also will tell you how fast your moving, .5 miles an hour, ect. on my boat the top speed was 3.2 mile an hour. And alot of my friends thought that the motor was synced with my depth finder, which it isnt, meaning it cant follow a breakline on it own, its able to (record a track) up to 2 miles long and store up to 3 tracks internally, meaning if your working a shore line hit the record button and follow the weedline or shore line and it records the track, you can then make another pass if it was a good weedline,or track back, real cool stuff. the spotlock/anchor feature works awesome, the only thing is if it real windy or gusty, the unit cant react fast enough and you may blow off the spot momentarily. all in all i really like it noproblems at all this summer. any questions fire away, mike
