Climbing treestand creaks bad.

Question

Looking for any advise. My Sit and Climb Lone Wolf has started making lots of snapping and creaking when climbing up and down. It makes the noise on the top section when I sit putting weight on the bar. I have tightened all the nuts and bolts which helped. I put lubricant on the moving parts.

I contacted Lone Wolf and they want me to send in. Bad time to be sending in.

Anyone have this problem and what was your remedy?

I have never had mine make any noise nor have the ones the others that hunt with me.

if it makes loud creeks, I would send it in. It could be defective and it's a long ways to the bottom of the tree if something broke.

Hopefully you have another stand that you could finish out the season with.

Did Lone Wolf tell you what the turn around time might be?

Truely, for safety's sake, I would not use it until it's looked at by Lone Wolf. Not worth a broken back for a few missed days of hunting.

If you are going to use it until the season is over, I would use a safety harness just incase something does happen.

That does sound strange considering the major selling point of lone wolf is that their stands are casted out of aluminum (or whatever) so they are one piece and don't creak. Is it the seat that creaks or the bottom platform? I have never had any problems with mine over the past two years.

Seriously KG?

Sounds like great customer service. They said send it in. They have always had great service.

After having my love wolf for 3-4yrs mine is starting to creak where the seat meets the vertical post. Mine is an Alpha hangon. I just needs a new bushing so I will replace it in the off season.

If its not a metal on metal problem tham I think you need a new bushing and can do that at your leisure. Maybe they can send you that in the mail. If not, then you may need to decide if you can limp it through the season.

I found the customer service to be good. they stated turn around time would be less than 2 weeks. I was able to located the contact area of problem and put tape between the main frame and metal U clamp. Once season is over I will most likely send in.
