sdpikehntr
I am doing smoked pork spare ribs for the hunting party on Saturday supper, I just purchased the pork ribs and they came with the brisket attached. The question I have is, do I need to make them seperate from the ribs (seperate batch) or can I put all the meat on the smoker at the same time and have them finished at the same time? Or do I need to put one on before the other to allow more cook time?I know beef brisket takes more time to smoke than beef short ribs, so does a pork brisket take more time then the ribs do? The plan is to apply rub and smoke the ribs at 225 degrees for 4.5 to 5.5 hours.Any tips will help!
reinhard1
the way you are preparing them they would be done at the same time. i actualy like the meat from the brisket part. but if i do a few for a group i often cut the brisket off and save some for homemade spagetti sauce for it adds flavor and i put some in brine and smoke them for flavor for beans or bean soup at a later time. but in general you will be just fine.
