I took my flasher with me today when I went out fishing--------------it was trying to watch 2 tv's along with my eagle locator. I don't think I'll be trying that again. It did help identify some structure though. Oh yeah----didn't catch anything though

Its a tool like anything else.. A flasher will give you the best REAL TIME picture of what is down there.. Its best in my opinion for vertical jigging.

It will greatly increase your knowledge of structure, the more you use it.

In an open water environment and on the move it is a bit overwhelming since your likely used to stationary fishing with a flasher.

The more you use it, the more you will come to appreciate it on open water just as you have on the ice.

They do excel in the vertical fishing game. Yet they do wonders to pinpoint structure percisely, and honestly.

It just takes practice.
