How to get pics on this site????

Does anyone know how to get pictures onto the threads?

You need to upload them to a HSOforum or image server first. Then just enter the address into your post in this form...

IMG]http://yourimageaddress.jpg ( in brackets in front - took it off for demonstration)

That works well, but any idea how to ge the size of the pciture to be shown to be shrunken down when viewing? The reason i ask is, that i already took MS Photo Editor and resized my picture to a 2"x3" size, roughly about 400 x 300 pixels. i uploaded the picture to a photo site. Using the aforementioned way to post a picture, , the picture is larger than i hope for viewing pleasure. Because the file is smaller, when expanding it, the view of it distorts the image some. Doing some research, here is the code i used to try to assign a height and width to the file:

However, this does not render the image at all (you can obviously see the language, thus the picture is not showing up.)

I also tried:

includes the .jpg to the file, but again it does not work.

Let me know if anyone knows any hints how i can represent the picture within its right pixel size for no distortion!

I followed up with an IS guy here at work and he mentioned that its possible the forum sets its own control on displaying images, and that typical HTML will not work on the site. The method that is used allows to show an image, but not get mixed up in the html of the FM site itself. Does anyone know any truth to this?

Does shutterfly allow hotlinking?
Go to your web hosting site and right click on the picture then properties. Copy the address then add that with the brackets and img. Before you add your pictures to your web hosting site the should be down sized. 300x 400 is huge and will take for every to load not to mention what it will do to the forum. There should be an option to lower the pixels with your software. Get it down to under 50 kb.

i actually have the image loaded under the ice fishing forum right now:

...and you can see how large it gets displayed.

I believe shutterfly is like the sony image site that has been referenced by others. Shutterfly is where the image is pulled from. I actually uploaded that picture to Shutterfly, after resizing it as a 2.5" x 3" photo, which i think would decrease the pixels, right?

Also, the pictures on the above forum i did put on are about 34-40kb, so size-wise, they should be ok.

You would actually like them down to about 10 KB. However, if you get them below 25 KB you should be ok.

anything above that has the potential to be too big.
