Late Oct/Nov Pike

Recommended Posts

If you can find green weeds at that time of year, you'll find lots of smaller prey species, and that draws the pike. The big ones prefer cooler water, so once the lake turns over and the shallows cool, they'll be in there targeting some yummy feedbag stuff.

Husky jerkbaits paused quite often will trigger lots of pike in there, as well spinnerbaits tipped with suckers and retrieved slowly.

I'm talking typical perch/panfish/pike lakes with no cisco/whitefish and no big expanses of deep, cold water. On the big water where the cisco and/or whitefish come in shallow readying to spawn, weeds don't mean didly. Then it's a trolling bite with big cranks wherever the cisco or whitefish are staging.
