Fluker
I've e-mailed my "photographer" from the trip to send me a couple pictures. Deitz you might be able to upload one easier than me if you'd be so gracious. All I can say is WOW! What an amazing machine. The details that have went in to the design of this boat really stand out. I'm just over break in, so I really haven't drove it much beyond what you can do during break in, but the little I have done since completing the break in has been very impressive. It rides very nice, and as I was a Cat owner before, I didn't expect anything other than that. It fishes VERY well... tons of room, tons of storage. The Eyra is a 20'2" hull that is rated for up to 285 HP. This is a new model (old name) for Cat in the 2011 series, and is what they are calling a "bridge" boat. Which in my understanding allows someone to get in to a 20' boat easier (powering with a 200 vs. 250) with out giving too much performance.** NOTE that I do NOT like having MPH conversations, but I do want to share my honest opinion. **There are 2 of them out there running 200's today where the owners have shared info about. Both owners have stated running 72-73 with two guys. There is one guy running a 250 who is just after break in and has hit 85 and says there is more to go. All of which is second hand info, so take it as ONLY that (expect one of the 200 guys did post a youtube video of a hb recording showing that he hit 75). After break in, I did get mine up and going, but not all the way for a few reasons. I hit 69.5 before shutting down, and feel I can hit 71-72 with the way things are set up now. That is perfectly fine by me and I'm not one to tinker to try and get 1-3 more MPH out of it. I was concerned that i might have hole shot performance issues being the tanks are in the back, but I was very pleasantly surprised that she gets out of the hole like a dream! As there are no Cat dealers in MN, sometimes it might be tough for some of you to see one. I'm moving to Missouri at the end of the month, but if you'd like to see mine in person feel free to email me and hopefully we can work something out (thefluker at that gmail addy). Otherwise Deitz is running a Puma as well, and I'm sure he'd be happy to show his off as well. There are always "discussions" (more so fights) about "my boat is better than your boat". I've never said that, nor will I ever say that, but I will tell you that the Cat's are absolutely awesome boats, and I'd never run anything but one because I've been so happy with them. In the end, it's all personal preference, and only you as the owner of a boat know what's right for you. What I will tell you is that as a company, you will NOT work with a better set of people than Rick Pierce and the BassCat family. They are top notch folks that really make you feel like part of the "BassCat Family", and that is just an awesome feeling.ThanksChuck
Fluker
One other thing to mention is if you have a Facebook profile, you can search for "Bass Cat Boats by Serial Number's" and see some boat's being built from start to finish. Mine is up with a title something along the lines of "in MN for a couple months to a southern missouri boy"
