brad coin
For Those of you fishing The George Wahl metro tourney next saturdayweve had some emails about the LMCD regs on tonka in the rules sectionjust to clarify the rules are the same has whats listed at the landings for everyday use, just like a normal fishing day so dont be afraid to do tonkain your packet there will be a special events cert form for tonka that yoou fill out and keep with you,,,make sure to do this because if you catch fish it will be asked for at the awards ceremony.of course all the other metro lakes in tourney need no forms

I'm looking forward to meeting some of the hard core musky guys at Thorne Bros afterward and hopefully learning a few things.

Dylan33
One more thing, Brad.....any advice before the tourney?
brad coin
well first off'dont forget to grab a mourning copy of either the MPLs star and trib or St Paul Pioneer press paper that you must have in picture when you catch a fish"best advice I can give you is dont be afraid to lake hop if the one your on is slow,,,if you go to white bear then Bald eagle is just across the rd and owasso is very close.Tonka usually draws the most anglers,,Eagle lake in Maple grove would probably put you the closest to Thornes and give you more fihing time,MPL's city lakes are nice but you will lose time not being able to use your gas motor getting back to launch...pre fish if you can this week!!! if you catch a fish late remember you HAVE to be at thornes by 4:30 sharp so if someone has to stay with boat at landing while you drive your or buddys vehicle to register it to save time not waiting to take boat out..do ithas far has tactics,,Ihave been too busy with work Im sure there are guys here on this board who can share and check the fishing reports section

MuskyBug85
ten fish total caught for around 250 entries, i think 5 from tonka (where we fished) 2 on forest 1 indy 1 harriet. 54" won it from tonka, bob turgen(sp) was second with a 47 from tonka, then it was a 45, 43, 40, 40, 40, can't remember the rest. sounded like most of the fish came out of shallow water with weeds. we saw a few fish but couldnt hook one during hours, I did head back out after award and pork chop feed and managed to put the partner on one around 40", never left the water for measure, but in that 38 to 42 range somewhere. on a side note GREAT Tourny had lots of fun and will definatly do it again next year.
